Sean Ibsen and Parker Mesch long time residents of Great Falls MT, have opened their Bio-One franchise and already have had their first job on their first day of being open.

Their first job was a decomposition (commonly known in the industry as “decomp”) three hours away from their offices. Being in Montana they understand they’ll have to drive long distances for jobs. This is nothing new to the Bio-One Montana franchise, they’re use to driving all around that State.

Crime Scene Cleaning Email

I received an email last night asking about our franchise www.BioOneInc.com, and wanting more info about how to start one etc..but I wanted to point out a few things some people don’t understand about what happens when the police or medical examiner leave etc..even people in that industry. 

Here is a clip from the email: 

I came across an article regarding your franchise and I am very interested in learning more. I have been in forensics for 7 years and initially recognized the need for this business when I was processing crime scenes for the Baltimore Police Department. During my three years with the BPD I was exposed to many different scenes including homicides, shootings, cuttings, etc. Once I finished the scene the family would reach out and ask “who will help me clean this up?” It broke my heart every time I had to answer them with “I’m sorry-I don’t know.” We were not provided with information nor were we allowed to give the victims information regarding who could help them restore their home to the pre-trauma condition.”

One thing that is important to remember is that the Police or Medical Examiners office will not help in the cleanup, and as stated above, some of them will not offer a referral source. Most of the time the families are left to deal with this trauma and terrible situation on their own. Not only is it an ordeal that can be dangerous because of possible cross contamination of diseases, but the mental stress and anguish one has to go through cleaning the remains of a loved one can be emotionally devastating.    

I’ve been in this industry a very long time and even I couldn’t fathom cleaning up a loved one or a close friend.
